.com address wanted.

I have the .co.uk address but want to get the .com address. Fired up whois and have their contact email but when I emailed them it bounced back. There is no content on the site and it expires next year.

Depends how badly and quickly you want it.

If you contact the owner, be prepared to let them have the upper hand.

I've used the Sedo service - and it worked. The Sedo staff were helpful and friendly and would recommend them.

Why get a company to do it? All you are going to do is end up paying them commission.

Just write to the guy, give him your address details so he can tell you are genuine and ask him to contact you if he's interested in selling. If e-mail is bouncing it's a good sign because they probably aren't doing anything with the domain. If you're serious about the domain I would start by making them an offer of around £150 (just to make it worth them doing the transfer).

If his email is not work your best option and most cost effective option would be witting a letter directly to him.
