Recommendations for central London function rooms?

Hi folks

I'm looking to hold a business event and require a function room in central London. Would appreciate a few recommendations

Will be held on a Saturday afternoon / early evening. Needs to hold around 100 people, plus be able to serve a buffet. Anywhere in Zone 1 considered. I remember that Buy.at held a couple of events at the Counting House near the Bank of England. Looking for something a bit more "open plan" than that particular venue, but the idea of a pub in that area is good as I guess we'll have the place to ourselves!

Anyway, if you kind people can give me a few suggestions to follow up that will be most appreciated

You can check out MLS, or similar office rental companies, they have a few big offices where they have an open plan conference arena and they can cater or call one in for cost reduction. There are a couple in Covent Garden which are nice and close to transport and pubs.

I tend to find hotels are too expensive due to the fact that you have to use their buffet, staff and clean up.

Also, check out the Internet advertising Bureau, they put of a LOT of functions and have list of good events. www.Iabuk.net

Ok thanks very much I'll look into that. Though perhaps I shold have stressed that a pub with function room would be adequate, it's not going to be too formal.

Maybe some of you (from affiliate networks?) have booked somewhere in the pat and had a good experience?
