I would suggest you try complimentary subjects if you are struggling with specific sites related to winter sports. So look for sites relating to the towns where the ski resorts are or extreme sports sites, etc.
My new site has achieved great keyword ranking in MSN and I'm getting some useful free traffic, but I'm struggling to get pages indexed in Google. I know I need back links to improve my rankings so I am concentrating on getting them.
I thought a good place to start would be checking where similar sites are getting their back links - it's depressing stuff - nearly all of them are from spammy "Made for Adsense" type sites. It's making me realise just how littered t'internet is with these sites.
I built one of these before I started in affilaite marketing and it's still got 192 pages (all of them) indexed on google and I don't even have any ads on it anymore! Now I have a site that I've toiled over and has design and content that I can genuinely say that I'm proud of and the Google isn't interested.
So if anyone can give me any tips on getting some quality links to my winter sports site l'd be very greatful.
Regards
Nick
Depends on your industry to be honest. You are not going to get top 10 in Google for something like Travel with spammy links. But you may get top 10 for a short period of time in a niche industry.
Just keep building solid backlinks from trusted, ontopic sites and once you are out of the sandbox you will leave the other sites for dust![]()
