I haven't had any more or less Google traffic than usual.
Perhaps you're flying up the rankings.
Has anyone else noticed a major increase in traffic today?
My site has had shed loads of traffic from google, way more than usual, is this due to a bank holiday monday or has google been playing with its results?
Has google had a shake up?

There seems to have been some sort of update. The number of indexed pages on my newest site has shot up from 37 to 135. Back links are also way up according to google. Still waiting to see if page rank see a boost as well...
Actually, I've got more pages indexed too, but still no increase in traffic.
Here's hoping the Monday rush comes on Tuesday.

tut tut for not reading my blog Mark.
I mentioned the update in the early hours of Saturday morning: http://deanhunt.com/google-update-damn-pc-problems/
In summary there is an official backlink update. However, indexed pages have also increased and some people have also seen a change in SERP position.
Very good Deno....
Know where to come next time I need to know what google is upto.. How did you find out? a forum?
Anyone else had good results or increases
So google has updated 2 data centres (how many does it have?)
This might explain why I cant see were we are listed but we are getting traffic
e.g here....
On my live help tracker we got a visit from this link.... but i cant see us....

as for how many has google got i know of about 30 and i keep finding new ones but uk data centers theres about 5 that i know of and these are the important ones if you want uk traffic ..... some of em 66.249.93.99,66.249.93.104,66.249.93.147
as for the disapearing search result...... welcome to the clubbut its proberly to do with the data center that you do the search from is different to the one the search came from.
But overall weve seen a little increase in traffic from google over the last 4 days thats when the update startedbut it appears to be rolling back its cache as many of our pages (30,000 odd) are from april and supplimental + we seem to have that old chestnut problem with the canonical name their back for us 20,000 odd results having been sortted out before the big d update but we are not alone

Deno,
I've bookmarked your blog!![]()

Does this mean that its likely that our results are only showing at some data centres? (thats why i can not see where the traffic is coming from from set search terms)
Is it likely that these new updated results will be rolled out to all the data centres? or could it all go pear shaped for us and they go back to the old results?

but our results started to go up on the 18th across a few data centers (uk ones where sort of last) its then slowly spread and now the results are spread out across all the data centers i can find but vary in amounts ...... since theres a lot of talk about the supplimentals its suggesting that google dosent really know what its up to things havent been the right for alot of people since the update of big d

For our site the increase has only really been the last day or two, not from the 18th, so will be intersting to see how things pan out.
Maybe the updates take quite a while.
Its interesting to see what others are experiencing.....?

Saturday (26th) seems to be the start of it for me. I find that traffic usually falls off over the weekend (which always confuses me as I have a DIY advice website, surely weekends are prime time...). This weekend however, traffic has increased by about 200% each day, and continues to do so up until today.
I have also noticed a change in where traffic is coming from. Normally 50% referral, 50% organic. This has changed to 20% referral and 80% organic. Of course, this could be due to the bank holiday weekend, but as I say, weekends usually see a drop (of about 30%) in my traffic levels.
Also, used a PR predictor a week or so ago and it predicted a PR of 0 for my site, I have just used the same predictor today and it is showing a PR of 3
