i feel the quality of results is droping a lot for G... steadly but surely Y is taking over the market share.

8 years is a very long time in internet land. Look back at the last 8 and see the changes.

I think there will be something completely new - not search engines as we know them. Assuming Microsoft continue to dominate the desktop, I think they could also dominate the internet

Switching search engine preferences is no more than a mouse click. Changing operating systems is a little more involved.
