Has anyone considered hiding adverts? I've got a script that hides adverts after the first page of a recordset. Initially I thought it was a good idea to enhance user experience ie faster loading pages but now I'm having second thoughts...

There was one site I was visiting that allowed users to choose to hide adverts which I thought was a good idea, better to keep visitors on site than have them leave because they don't like the ads, another thing though is it also offered a subscriber based service where among other things the ads were turned off. I think it was about $9.95 a year to subscribe and as I recall it was a heavy traffic site (cannot for the life of me remember what or where it was though ,sorry).

I guess they make money from emailing the users 5 times a week instead of showing ads

    Mark.
