To be honest i would ask each merchant / Aff Manager as if you use the Trademark say Argos for example in your domains it could be asking for more trouble then its worth TBH
I have an idea for a few new affiliate website but not sure if the idea is:
A) allowed
B) done already
What I wanted to to do was create some individual for popular merchants...
E.g
www.MERCHANTNAMEdeals.co.uk
e.g www.argosdeals.co.uk, www.bootsdeals.co.uk etc
And have a website for that specific merchant with links and product info as well as promotions etc?
Is this allowed? Is it already done?

One simple and straight answer - NOT ALLOWED. I dont think that they will allow you to do something of same sort.
"Falling down is not Defeat....Defeat is when you refuse to get up."
Ask the merchant first - some will be fine about it, others will not. Maybe explain what methods you will use to market it to install faith that you are not aiming to "pass off" as them.

If you go into the TradeDoubler interface, click through to a merchant, and click on the "Info" tab, there is a grid which displays what the merchant does and does not allow concerning their trademarks - for some merchants at least.
For example a quick look at the Currys Info page shows they would not allow this, but CD WOW! would allow you to. However it's always better to double check with the merchant to make sure you're totally in the clear - it's better to earn and keep than to have commissions taken away from you.
Hope this helps.

"have commissions taken away from you" ouch my ribs
hands up anyone that has had any commissions withheld for any transgressions
I personally can't remember the last time I heard of anyone getting slapped wrists
I see the same people doing very naughty things and no action is ever.. je répète once again.. EVER taken.. it can't be as they are constantly doing the same naughty thang with the same merchants and they wouldn't do it unless they kept getting paid
seems to me that you can do what the feck you like .. if :
A) your ankles are the only visible outward sign when you're near the affiliate manager as you are so far up their ...... edited as it's the sabbath
B) you bought a jacket with optional affiliate manager pocket and he/she fits right in there nice and snug
C) the network operates on a "wait till the client spots anything" policy
D) the network operates a 25 strikes and you are out policy
I see the same things over and over again and tbh.. I've come to the conclusion I'm the idiot here, so I think my new motto is going to be "do as I like, deny all knowledge, act dumb, say sorry, bank the cash, rinse and repeat"
seems to work well for way too many guys
One word....
well I would if I could remember the one that withheld £17,000 on TD, was it tescos?
yes tesco it was

lol ok.. 1 down... ummm about 99 to go
I was thinking more ppc related naughty things than domain name related but yeah.. if you have domain like tescoblah.co.uk you kinda know that you either need clearance or risk it losing the lot,
personally I can't understand how they were even dumb enough to bother going to court in an attempt to get the cash.
You will go bust paying solicitors fees.
