  Which do you like Best

I am starting an affiliate program for my website

It allows you to integrate prizes into your own website through iframe

So visitors never leave your site as they do with normal affiliate technology

As its a free prize thats on offer to visitors, the sign up rate is really good

I was wondering what method to use

2p per visitor entering for free prize
or
50p per visitor who becomes a member

and

10% of all spend, which ever method I go with above

naturally its really easy to get visitors to enter the free prize, but not all of them sign up as members.

Any advice which method is the best?

Regards

Why not make membership very simple and when someone enters the prize draw, they automatically become a member? Then go for the 50p per sign up bit

Offering 2p per registration is a bit poor in regards to earning potential. I would be suprised if you had many affiliates rushing to promote your offer at that price.

Thanks for your advice Snigster

I have had a brainstorm and decided to offer both.

only couple days coding for me

I think it would depend on the site as to what the webmaster would prefer

member sites like dating sites would probably profit more from offering the prizes direct on the website and getting large member base to enter for free prize

passthrough/general traffic sites would probably benifit more from passing through to the site and gaining on member sign ups.

www.prizepromotions.co.uk
www.prizebid.co.uk

comments and how to improve my offering would be more than welcome.

I'd like to have a system that works for the benifit of all parties, and you are the best people to tell me how to acheive that

Thanks

Interesting stuff... 2p a click probably isn't worth dealing with imo, i think you may end up with more issues long term than benefits, so the become a member bit plus a %age of their spending would be nice (and offers an affiliate more incentive for long term partnership).

I'd like to see a 'powered by ...' tag somewhere (with affiliate code in place) just so that if there are any issues then people know to kick your butt and not mine!

If the offering ran through a network I think I'd possibly be happier too - preferably one who can offer php templates.

I've seen your site and whilst I have some doubts about how popular these kind of games are, you've done a nice job with the concept. Also one of my users picked up a PS3 via a reverse auction (Dixons competition) so I guess if the prize is right it'll attract players.
