I was wondering if there is precedent for a mash up of an affiliate site / retail site where the site has one catalog but different products would be bought from different sources - some direct from the site and some off afiliates?
Thinking of using limited inventory and supplimenting the catalog with product feeds. Would e interested to hear any thoughts / comments on this.
Edirectory do this in a fashion, however you can actually check out there.
I do this for some sports stuff, try to get visitors in for all brands then try sell the ones I can, rest carted off to affiliates sites, although two databases are separate because this is one supplier.
