  IE7 - yuck!

Hello,

Have just upgraded to IE7 and I have to say I hate it!

It just doesn't feel right and the fonts look awful - eg the thread titles on A4U look bold - not very nice at all.

The verdana on my site looks horrible as well - not as nice as IE6

Are there any settings I need to change?

Si

There is a plugin for firefox that lets you use IE within firefox (as a tab) - very useful for testing.

  Re: IE7 - yuck!

Firefox 1.5 is the business. Firefox 2 is pants. IE has always been pants.

For testing, I'm going to be testing in Firefox 1.5, 2, IE 5, 6 and 7. And probably Opera as well.

At the moment I only get around to testing in Firefox 1.5, IE6 and Opera though.

  Re: IE7 - yuck!

Opera rules, takes a little while to get used to and its a bugger to get sites perfect for opera as well as firefox and ie but it makes you keep your sites less full of crap.

Take an opera drive and after a week or two you wont believe the so many little things it has that just make browsing much easier, for example if you copy and a url and then want to paste it into your browser window, you get the option to "paste and go" which saves you pressing enter. Ok thats minor but there are hundreds of little things like that,

Matt

  Re: IE7 - yuck!

According to my stats over 90% of my visitors are using IE - with 9% using IE7 and 80%+ on IE6 for what it's worth.

The other browsers just don't get a look in.

  Re: IE7 - yuck!

Had IE7 since beta stage and never had a problem with it - certainly wouldn't go back to IE6.
Fonts are fine with me, like the fuller window size and love the tabbed browsing.

Cheers
Aly

  Re: IE7 - yuck!

I prefer non-microsoft software solutions wherever practical, have managed to escape from ie, now using Firefox 2.x which is brill. Still stuck with Outlook, Thunderbird just can't seem to cope with most of my POP mailboxes and I'm still using Excel so still a work in progress.
