As someone who was
SEO based, but moved into PPC into a big way, I find the time it takes to make any significant earnings from
SEO, unnerving.
I believe that running PPC campaigns really sharpens up your commercial abilities and experience as you have to keep track of revenue, expenditure, profit and other key business indicators on a daily basis. Its your money on the line, and that keeps you sharp.
SEO, on the other hand creates a feeling of revenue being cost free. Sharp commercial skills are less important.
Sure,
SEO can have massive ROI's, however in any given time frame, you can earn actual profit more rapidly, and more predicatably with PPC.
The best approach is of course having, and using,
SEO and PPC skills, but I find myself thinking of a site producing results from
SEO "next year", whereas I can produce high revenues from PPC "today"
