Can anyone give me a list of the top AM networks in Oz? Do any of the UK networks have a presence there?

    DGM Australia
    ClixGalore

A few others but CG has the lions share.

There is Commission Monster too, but I have no idea what they are like as I am having extreme trouble conveying to them the concept that a UK based affiliate company is actually able to drive Australian traffic!

That's not unusual Kirsty. Wait until you have to deal with some of the Australian merchants. They're a bit like the yanks in that they only assume the internet goes as far as the border of their country. Commission Monster is a nice looking network but they generally refuse to do business with non Australian affiliates.

Lol, yes I have been having some rather amusing e-mails with their affiliate relationship manager who also told me they didn't have much for a PPC affiliate as only a few of their programmes paid on a per click basis!

I'm on Clix Galore anyway now, so I will concentrate on them.

The only drawback with CG Kirsty (apart from the nominal monthly fee and payment by PayPal) is that each merchant promoted via a website must have each website individually registered (this causes separate accounts) and also that if you wish to promote using ppc without a website landing page then permission is generally sought on an individual basis as they frown on direct ppc linking.

Gah, sounds too much like trouble to me in comparison to Clixgalore... just got my first sale with them in relatively short order too, so I will take that as a good omen as I venture out into the Antipodean paid search landscape!!

Thanks for the info. This enquiry was on behalf of an Ozzie friend of mine, so there shouldn't be any location or currency problems.

He gave me the impression that the Ozzie AM industry was way behind the UK, he said a lot of big name stores still don't sell online.

He's right. They don't. There are a few exceptions like Perfume Connection and Gifts Australia but many don't do internet and even when they do they don't grasp the power of non australian based affiliates.

Do you know how if there are any electrical retailers with an affiliate program over there? Do they have an equivalent of Currys/Dixons?

We have a lot of clients in Australia, but not many affiliates yet. We're on Zanox Worldwide, which have an Australian site. If you check The Australian version of shopping.com (http://au.shopping.com) you will see many interntational stores advertise. A lot of Australian online shoppers rely on stores in the US and Asia.

If your friend is interested in advertising us, I can let them know which products do well in Australia.

    cheers

I recommend Commission Monster, they are the leading network here with the widest range of quality merchants and they pay dead on time.

Clixgalore tend to have low quality merchant programs usually consistent with their low entrance fee for merchants and appaling platform.

DGM are as bad here as they are there with their shocking ukaffiliates platform and that about sums it up.
