there are some really good free niche-site-builder systems out there. In my experience, the less time you spend on a niche site the better because its up to the gods whether it gets indexed, or stays there...
http://www.nichetaxi.com - takes the hard work out of finding niches for your adsense websites! And its free!
I liked the article, but one thing sticks out - if your mini site is a product and your domain is the product name, then surely you are infringing on the manufactuers trademark (assuming they have one) ?
Also, if he mentioned music as a niche.. if your domain is the name of a band or a muscian's name, then surely they can take you to court and will win if they want the domain name.
I'd say this happens quite rarely, and when it does happen you just take it down after one warning.
Do a search for Adrian Bold - Bold Internet.
He has a nice site and I like his email bulletins as well.

Nice article - I've not really done much niche stuff, and the ones I have turned into monster sites. There's some good tips and follow through in the article.![]()
I only skimmed but looks like it's a REALLY good guide and very well written. Plus it's gotten over 1,000 Diggs and some great comments and feedback. I like the idea of a small very focused mini site for starting in this business. I encourage newbie affiliates to focus on a niche instead of jumping head 1st into hosting, mortgage, Internet marketing ebooks and other highly competive and overly saturated markets. This is just one of many ways to go, but teaches some good lessons you could apply even if you are a seasoned aff.
Just made it a sticky at my newbie affiliate forum, think it has some good info.

I only skimmed it too. What strikes me most though, is that
this is how to disseminate this type of 'article' these days.
Then get the digging n technorati thing going.
Interesting.
Also skimmed it.![]()
Cool article. I'm impressed, how fast one can put such a site together! The good thing is really that one can see the site alive.
I wonder how much money it's making!
But I think, with a little more time investing, one could make it much more profitable.

OK, newbie here so this looked like a good place to start.
Spent the day looking for niche ideas, came up with one (starting with 1) and now looking at webpage design. Looking at the example site, red steel, it looks very simple, and sorry to sound negative, quite amateur. Can someone honestly tell me that a site such as this can honestly make a reasonable amount of cash, or is it that the site is purely as an example and in fact my niche site, and others for that matter, will need to look and feel 101% better than this one?
OK I think I may have answered my own question here.
It's an example only....am I right? Reason that makes me think is that it isnt indexed on google and doesnt rank anywhere as fas as I can see. Maybe it did when it was first published??
brussell78 - some people will argue that ugly sites make more money![]()
Either way, I think you are putting too much emphasis on design.
