Which directories are worth to submit to?
I have read often, that all except DMOZ and Yahoo is time wasting.
Now I have come about other opinions, that it's yet worth to submit to some with higher
PR and traffic, and some that are for one's niche.
How much traffic do you get from directories?
Does it influence your pagerank?
I have checked some sites, they got no pagerank from directories. And I think, it's logical - maybe a directory site mainpage can have a good
PR but the other pages are normally lower ranked. AND google relates the pagerank to the number of outgoing links, so when you have a link from a high
PR webpage that has not much outgoing links, then your
PR will benefit from it. But if there are loads of outgoing links, then you will not have much from it, or even nothing.
Can you post some real experiences (not just assumption!) with directories that you have traffic and/or higher
PR from?
Will have a good look through that tonight! Just visited the business.com you mentioned at the top of your post, I want to follow that business model for my domains findbusiness.co.uk and getbusiness.co.uk although it looks like too much work for just me, I like the idea of the free listing and the featured listing being ppc, it might work well
