Another question I am sure that is asked a lot........but how long does it take to get your site a page rank?

We have been live for over a year......and still nothing.....I know there is still a lot of improvements to be made but we do have some decent enough inbound links.

Thoughts/Criticisms please. (Site is www.dialadealer.com)

It's usually when they can be arsed...

Took me 4 months it literally updated about 4 days ago :eek:

Looks like you need some more incoming links, as this is how it works it out. Don't pay much attention to the green bar as this is updated as I say above every 4 months or so, it's not your true page rank. Concentrate on incoming links and you will be fine.

I have just done a backlink check with this http://www.seo-consulting.de/online-...link-check.php
and it shows that you have no backlinks at all.

Hi Andy,

I don't really understand what is going on......we do have some decent links....a colleagues says it's because the way the links are programmed ... its not a way that google can recognise it as a proper back link?

Eg we appear on http://www.stanjames.com/poker/ which is a well respected gambling site, but it does not show up as a backlink....

I've just done a check on a site with loads of backlinks - and this tool shows no links at all

1) Forget about your toolbar PageRank - it's irrelevant, unless you are selling links via a broker. I've seen PR3 pages outrank PR7 ones
2) PR updates are done about once a quarter, although there is a rumour that frequency will be increased to once every few weeks, or possibly has already
3) Google broke the link: command years ago. It never shows all your links, so don't fret about it

Google tends to show only links from pages of pr3+

As others would say, don't worry about pagerank too much.
