IMO opinion its too wide a question to speculate any figures on personally though most networks offer some kind of stats for their merchants across the network as a whole.

does anyone have any info on things like:
how long it takes customers on average to make a purchase after visiting a merchant site via an affiliate link. do most people do it there and then, or come back after weeks or months?
what % of people convert after clicking through to a merchant site?
i know it will change according to the merchant, network used, tracking etc.. but are there any figures in general?

One big thing that influences is the type of product or service on offer. Some have a long lead up of research before purchase such as a holiday while things like DVDs people are more inclined to just buy because it isn't a high risk item to buy.
