If you are using a uk domain as part of earning revenue then you have to declare your details anyway.
I have a .info domain and feel slightly uneasy about about not being able to opt out of WHOIS as I've read that WHOIS details are sometimes used for identity theft, domain transfer scams etc.
Would transferring the domain to a company that offers private domain registrations (i.e. where they register the domain with their details instead of mine) be the best way to avoid this? If however that company then went out of business, would there then be a risk that I could lose the domain?
Obviously using made up contact details is another way of maintaining privacy, but is there then a risk then of loosing the domain by not being able to prove I'm the owner of the domain?
Think I'll stick to UK domains in future!
