Is AdWords in Trouble?

I just received a phone call from our media buying agency who informed me that google seems to be having some trouble on their AdWords accounts. It would seem that millions of keywords across the world have been set inactive with a minimum bid of £5.00

This is not the usual Quality issue as my agency actually spoke to some Google reps directly who admitted there are technical issues. From what I can see from our accounts, we have a handful of affected keywords. Anyone else notice this?

This sounds about right. I changed some keywords earlier from 10p to 5p earlier, then Google asked me to update to £5.00.

I really dont know what is happening with Google Adwords, I also have the same issue...sudden jumps from 0.05 to either £2.50 or £5

I've had this today on about 10% of my keywords, but I'm quite new to adwords so put it down to the standard quality scoring, other pages have got Good or OK score, and it seems completely random. So hope that it's a technical error.

Every single keyword is now inactive all saying £5.00. I must have over 300 keywords.

So what happens now?

Not affected here...mind you I have noticed they've trawled my websites again and placed every last one on Page 1 for their relevant key words. Some of the sites have been top 20 for the last three years.

Phew, thought it was just me!

On one of my affected ad groups I have an all time (albeit having just started a couple of weeks ago) CTR of 11.70%. I couldn't for the life of me work out what I'd done wrong!

Anymore official word Marcel? or anything in writing? I hope it is just a technical fault that will blow over, but theres always that utter feeling of helplessness when dealing with Google which is quite unnerving.

Same happened here also. i have certain keywords which were working very well and have CTR of about 13.15% certainly inactive for search. Asking to increase quality or cpc by £5.00. i was shocked.

So what the steps should be taken now! are we remain speechless in front of Google or is there any proper way to solve or recover our losses.

Refund? Refund for what?
Even if G raise the minimum bid to £5 you only pay £5 if you bid that high. If you did, then no, of course there won't be a refund.

I haven't seen them charge more than I bid, so although I got stung here and there that's my fault and I surely don't expect a refund.

Indeed Zaq, the first post says G raised the mimimum bids - no hint of a glitch there, much less "Adwords in trouble" - whatever that means.

Where's the problem?

Sounds to me like an Ad agency that doesn't know it Adwords ar*e from it's elbow.
