I'm promoting the PS3, but not through PPC. Well not unless I can get some very cheap clicks. The decline rate on preorders can be massive, especially when the merchants take too many orders.
I've just been on a few electrical retailers websites and they are plastered with adverts to pre order the PS3.
To me, the launch is the wrong time of year and should have been done at Christmas, or even Christmas 07.
I've seen a few AdWords ads for pre ordering and some of these are affiliates.
After the stink behind Wii pre orders (posted on aA4U a while ago), are many affiliates promoting the PS3?
Furthermore, should affiliates bother promoting pre orders or is it a waste of time and money?

I didn't bother after doing the Wii!
Cheers

I would expect the recent decision not to include full hardware emulation for the back catalogue in the European models to also play a big part. The launch line up isn't that strong so there will likely be a lot of people who are expecting to be able to play their PS2 and PS1 games, if they find out they can't only when the console arrives it could be a deal breaker.
I'm promoting PS3 but not via PPC. Just an additional link on sites that are organic or have their own PPC campaigns.
