(1)Abstract
The present invention is directed to an e-commerce outsourcing system and method that provides hosts with transparent, context sensitive e-commerce supported pages. The look and feel of a target host is captured for future use. The commerce object can be a product, a product category or a dynamic selection indicator. Upon activation of the provided link, the visitor computer is served with an e-commerce supported page with the look and feel of the host website associated with the activated URL.

My guess is this is text from a patent pending for some process used commonly on the web but that someone is claming the patent for. Probably in the USA.
A simple search on google for the title brings up:
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6629135.html
It's obvious patent talk though(Why say in a couple of sentences what you can string out into 20 pages).
No idea why it's of interest though... I'm sure there are hundreds of patents around affiliate marketing. The question is does anyone actually try to defend theirs, or really want to go about attacking other companies that they think infringe their patent... Then there's the question as to if any of the patents would actually stand up if tested. Sometimes patents are just made as a way to secure more funding....
Investor: "Do you have a patent though?"
Startup: "Sure"
Investor: "OK here's the money!"
not sure that it will be usefull for common affiliate marketer or I'm wrong?
