Anyone know, how I can integrated affiliate ads into my wordpress blog. Do i need to sign up to the CSS paid subscription?

    Simon,

I have a couple of test sites which I'll give you details about by pm.

One of them is a very simple hotel reviews site, I suppose a cash back site for all the hotels we stay in - certainly no attempt to rival the likes of Holiday Watchdog!

I have customised the posts table to include:

    Star rating
    Our rating
    Affiliate deeplink
    Photo

It took quite a bit of fiddling with various php pages to make this work - not my forte, but it can be done.

I'm sure there's someone with a lot more experience here who can advise, but I hope I can give you something to get started on.

    James

Of course you can intergrate Affiliate ads into Wordpress - depends how you want to do it really.

I've got some adsense & affiliate ads on www.unfair-bank-charges.org.uk if that's any help.

That bank-charges blog is similar to what I want, but just not so ad heavy.

Basically, as I was just explaining to James is that I want to be able to include the other banner in order to break up large blog entries.

Also, I would like to change the style sheet image slightly, but I cannot find the "The code is over here simon" button on word press.

    Hi Simon,

I’m not 100% sure I know what you want to do, but I may have a solution. Wordpress does not allow any javascript in posts, so to get any affiliate banners in your posts you need a plugin. I recommend Adsense Deluxe, while it is mainly for adsense it allows you to paste in your affiliate code into the site.

    Cheers

Some themes allow you to edit bits through the wordpress backend. If not you need to edit the themes styles stylesheet by hand which you can find at:

    wordpress directory/wp-content/themes/theme name/style.css

This contains the main styles for the theme, and you can edit this to change the look of the theme.

If you only want to run basic Affiliate Banners or Product Feed in Word Press, it is very easy. Just make a new post or page and paste the Affiliate html code into the HTML box. The html box is accessed by selecting the icon when writing your post/page.

This method can also be used for basic product feed. You will need a basic understanding of html - just to justify banners etc.

The process is very simple and I have used it for banners from AWIN, TD, and Affiliate Future without any issues. This includes Product Feed.

    Cheers.
