From 12th March to 18th March 2007, it's unofficially sales declined week, a week long campaign to list every sale/lead declined during this period. Feel free to add yours over the coming days and weeks and provide the reason given. I've had two recently but not from/during this week so won't add, one was an Internal Order and another a Fraudulant Order/Application.
Any sales either generated this week that later get declined and or sales from the past that get declined this week should be posted. Please copy and paste relevent details, merchant, date etc.

Is there no more? this industry is too cosy, come on name and shame.
Why would people really want to post their information about declined sales on a public forum!
You don't see any posts on the internet from Richard Branson telling everyone about his business transactions, so why should affiliates!
I get declined or reversed transactions from merchants, but I'm not going public about it, because the merchant is worth more to me than I am to them, so I accept the reversals.
I still make a profit, and will not ruin a relationship with a merchant, just to get 5 seconds of satisfaction by "name and shame" methods.
I dont see much point either as on most networks they have far longer to reverse a sale. On average I get at least £1000 every month reversed accross various sectors. Some sectors have a much higher reverse rate due to credit checks etc etc
I take reversals as part of the business really, the same as retailers do when they get fraudulent orders. I am not saying that I dont keep an eye on them, but its hardly ever I question a reversal.

i thinks theres a bigger issue with tracking sales/leads then sale/lead being declined
We need to do i test with one merchant which is on all of the top 3 networks and see which networks tracks the sale or lead, we should setup a new section on a4u where affiliates who what to test merchant/s tracking can do in a group where each affiliate adds the same tracking ID to there affiliate link before making a purpose etc
Group 1 (Electrical Appliances)
1: Comet - 134 affiliate members - 58 sales - commission sales ##
2: Currys - 145 affiliate members 45 sales - commission sales ##
and so on...
Then as each affiliate makes a purpose they can post there results if they got the commission or not as a group then you can pass the results on to the
merchant affiliate manager so they can fix the problem.

True I have made a few purchases myself that have not tracked, its just too much of a pain to chase it up on your own and for just one transaction, maybe a group effort would make it more plausable.
The only problem is that the group testing would have to be competent enough on a PC to make sure that its nothing to do with their system that stopped the tracking working.

Yes but if we all use the same tracking id the merchant affiliate manager just need to lookup the id in his report so if you got 100+ affiliates using the same id it will stand out more then just 1 affiliate remember affiliate managers are just like bank manager they just look at the numbers![]()
