    Guys

A company I know selling watches and jewelry are looking into starting an affiliate scheme. In the first instance they are thinking of purchasing and installing a 3rd party affiliate tracking application and running the program in house

Would you, as wise affiliates, favour or suggest any particular package??

    Thanks for any help

Hi Tony - I've got a few on my site, but there's so many and no "best" - it depends on their strategy, strengths/weaknesses, needs for them and their affiliates too.

    Cheers,
    Peter

Sure. Some let you create a mass pay file or at least export to xls/csv to cut cheques or outsource.

None will pay paypal automatically - at least none I've seen. I don't know why anyone would do this - also it could be a security risk.

Unless it's a split-pay system where the aff. gets paid directly by the customer at the time of the sale. But no one does that anymore due to other issues it raises.

Best advice look into a network. Email me if you want advice.

If you are confiden that you could support an inhouse affiliate network - try mals e commerce http://www.mals-e.com, affiliate tracking - free and supports most payment options

Is this Tony that used to work for DGM? If so write your own software sure it's very easy for you and anything you make will probably going to be 10x better than what DGM currently have.

However to be honest your probably wasting your time starting an independent program from scratch these days, I do know many successful Indy programs but they started a long time ago. Personally wouldn’t bother adding any Indy programs to any of my sites, with the exception of Amazon more trouble than they are worth.

Kowabungas MyAP v9 look slike a pretty good package. I know people have historically had issues with MyAp, but v9 does look like it will deliver the goods

Yup thats me, not worth re-inventing the wheel is it, just looking for a quick solution.

Interesting comments on indies, the idea is to stick to 20-30 affiliates, this is the reason (mostly) why networks are not being considered.

How are you Mr Cod?!?! still doing photography?

Go with a private program and invite the people you want to take part, then you have the best of both worlds. No need to spend a fortune on costs go with Affiliate Future, Webgains or my own one Paid On Results as it's not like your going to have to be told everything to do and they are well on par if not better for may things that you can get on other networks and heck since I know you can add the tracking code without making a song and dance about it I even lower the setup fee

Yes but instead of getting better, of late I feel I have not been as creative but that might be down to not spending enough time out and about visiting places and finding new things to take snaps.
