Self promotion threads

They seem to be coming more and more often on here, I'm not talking about new affiliate programmes as I believe we are all interested in hearing of new companies offering new structures/promotions etc.

However recently there seems to be an increase in people claiming to be able to make X amount of £'s, within a small amount of time. There are plenty of people who do do it, it is possible, but recently these threads happen to have an angle of personal gain. I mean if I could make £250k in a year, why would I tell anyone else the secret. Even beejeebers (a respected poster on these boards), seems to have gone quiet on his latest task after a number of posters accused him of having slightly 'alterior motives'. Michael put his money where his mouth was then moved it away again as quickly as he self promotes.

I'm sure I may be wrong on some of these points, but it seems to be on the increase on here.

I work for an agency so try not to self promote at all, for want of getting called a spammer. I prefer to try to build relationhips with affiliates in other ways rather than con my way into their affections.

There are certain people on here who make serious money, take Kieron for example, when he says he makes money, he backs it up (that forum post, with bank statements). Yet you can get see from other messages that he has no need to blag himself through other methods.

I don't know him but he has earn't respect through forum messages, as have plenty of others who post (he's just an obvious example), but like I say there seems to be plenty of others who makes claims which has the opposite effect in my opinion.

I just read your post very quickly and the only bit I can remember is "if I could make £250k in a year why would I tell anyone else about it".... or something like that..

The reason your post "struck" me is because it is full of 2 things

[1] negativity

[2] Integrity

Negativity, yet I could sense your intentions are genuinne. I'm sure you are a great guy/gal and mean totally well with your post, however... it is totally NEGATIVE.

That is what seperates the "you's" from the "me's"...

I don't want to sound negative... but no! Aha... my favourite line from "The Young Ones" (Mike)..

Don't worry about if this post, or that post, or a coming post, is for real or not. It doesn't matter. Some will post crap, some posts may appear to be crap but are not. Never judge a book by what you perceive to be the cover..

And for the record, the reason I (ME), would share a £250k a year secret is two fold:

[1] because in all odds I (ME) will make far more money from selling the info than from actually using the system (it's a time / return thing) and...

[2] because I am a nice guy and would like to see grafters succeed...

I don't see anything wrong with promoting your merchants, surely this is place to do that.

We can all see the scammers and their posts generally get ignored these days, which is the best response.
