Oh and by the way i have signed up to affiliatefuture.co.uk and there is some cool merchants on there that i am looking to set up some campaigns for.
Is direct linking the method to use OR is there some other technique i should use?
Thanks i wont list any more interviews![]()
Just so excited about all this.
Anyway i was wondering to all you using Adwords. When you promote physical goods such as clothes, health products OR stuff like gift vouchers, flights etc. do you use direct linking methods or do you set up your own web pages to help increase your chances of making the sale?
I know you are supposed to set up web pages to increase the sale when promoting internet marketing products such as those at Clickbank (although i would never compete with that competition), but should you use the same method for the products i have listed above? How would you go about doing this too? Seems difficult to write about a product and make a sale other than just sending them to the product through your affiliate link and let the website do the talking.
Please clear me up on this as i have mainly been researching in selling internet marketing products which i wont do as there is so much competition.
Hope to hear some useful answers.
Thanks.

You're great Jamie, loads of enthusiasm, someone joining the forum without a dodgy motive (becoming horribly rare). I'd give you a job, (even with the fact you want to take all the learnings and leave) because you've got passion - sadly I've not got any vacancies at the moment but plenty have. Bet you walk into something.
We use a variety of linking methods dependant on market, merchant and conversion.
Direct delivers our biggest ROI, but I wouldn't fancy entering it as a newbie, landing pages (definitely) requires a wider skill set, is a longer term play but can open additional avenues. Eats up your resources like anything though.
Best of luck

Thanks for the comliments. The feedback i have been getting is great.
Sadly i will not be able to post this often as i am back to work tomorow. I will be leaving June 1st (YIPEE) and i will definitely be going into PPC when i leave be it with a company or on my own.
I am still studying and it looks like i have stumbled across some real gems when looking at some affiliate programs and researching the traffic generated through the key phrases for thos programs and the current CPC.
Can't wait to get started, but i will be patient and do some more research. I am hoping to get some of my own campaigns set up soon on a small budget.
I will probably promote high end products that will earn me higher commisions. People searching for these products are usually quite serious about buying them too (especially if you only use very targeted keywords). I will filter out the freebie seekers as much as i can and people looking for reviews etc. and hopefully i can make a nice profit and take it from there.
I will stick to it and keep you all updated on how things go on the learning side and also on where i go in regards to work when i leave my current job in under 2 months.
Whoah - really? Generally, the higher the ticket, the lower the conversion rate!People searching for these products are usually quite serious about buying them too
Sorry i meant the more targeted the keywords the higher the conversion.
So if i was to promote with the keyword 'Sony Vaio vgn fe770g' i would get a much higer converion rate than if it was just 'sony vaio' because it shows the person searching is sure what they want and is ready to buy. Well not in all cases but anyway you know what i mean.
