Ok new to affiliate future so would like if someone could clairfy this or any experiences
In the FAQ section it says this :
"12. When do merchants validate sales?
Merchants don't validate sales, they have 5 days (120 hours) to cancel any cancelled, invalid or fraudulent sales. After this time the commissions will be yours and the merchant cannot cancel them"
Is this statement 100% true, or has anyone has experience of Affiliate future cancelling / no paying transactions after the 5 day period has expired ?
Thanks for your replies.

One or two exceptions. Most recent of which is listed below (the email I received). However, I have been using AF for a long time and have never had a serious issue with them.
It has come to our attention that in the late part of February and early part of March, the Affiliate Future tracking was configured incorrectly.
The result was we paid all sales including SIM free at the default £30.00 which is payable for the network Three.
As you will be aware our commission payment is £17.50 for all other networks and 3% for SIM free.
Following discussions with Affiliate Future they have recommended the over payment should be deducted for your affiliate account by the 03/04/2007
In your case the actual commission received was £X the correct payment should have been £Y making the over payment £Z.
We have listed the sales in question on the attached spreadsheet.
Can you please confirm that you have received this e-mail and that you agree to this claw back taking place?
We would like to take this opportunity to apologise for and inconvenience caused and to thank you for you understanding.
Cyanide
I got them to do it as a merchant once, but only because there was a clearly identified problem with invalid leads being sent to a programme on a large scale that took a week or so to discover. We went through quite a long process of proving the problem before they did it though.
For legitimate transactions, you'll have no problem. AF have a very good reputation for getting cash back in the hands of their affiliates, which is one of the reasons why I first chose to use them them as a merchant, and often prioritise their programmes as an affiliate.
I have had a few transactions cancelled due to "invalid details" or "wrong telephone number" etc but these have been within the 5 days and are for finance leads (annoys me really as I am paying on PPC for these leads too). It worries me sometimes that some of these merchants may just cancel the lead as the customer wasn't interested in the product after all (ie apr too high etc), so the company then just says back to af (or whoever) "false info" etc.
Why would someone send invalid leads on such a large scale, as they are bound to get caught out![]()
What guarantee do we have that they honour the lead ? seems a bit 1 sided to me tbh lol
Please don't get the impression that the guaranteed payment gets abused. AF took a very hard look at the data before we cancelled anything older than 5 days.
Whether merchants who cancel leads before the 5 days are always honest is another matter. Seems to me that the finance sector is rife with merchants who advertise a lead programme, but actually only pay out if they convert the lead.
That's one for another thread though!
Sorry sgpratley, I did mean before the 5 day period. I trust AF and find them very good at what they do. I am glad I am not the only one with concerns about the leads being cancelled for 1 reason or another !
another exception being onestopphoneshop - details on the affiliate future website
