    Only #13 for 09F911029D74E35BD84156C5635688C0 sadly.

In fact, I bet this post does better for 09F911029D74E35BD84156C5635688C0 than my site.

    Sadly I'm nowhere at all on 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0

as a test its not fair to compare it with larger niches where competition is fierce among competing affiliate sites. and my question is do people actually click on such sites as this and if they do...do they purchase from the afffiliates?

Does goolge get the 3 to 5 times overture? Is this estimate reliable?

Having the right domain name is very important but more important in Googles eyes is the age of the domain. For some reason, Google trusts older domains more than new ones, a fact I've proved by moving content from a new domain to an older one. After the change, the site on the older domain ranked much higher for the same keywords.

But how do you find old domains ? I've recently put together a site (yup, it's an affiliate site) which finds old domain names that the original owner has let expire. Many of these have no pre-existing backlinks or history but some do.

By buying a domain that was first registered and hosted several years ago you're going to have an advantage over a brand new domain. If it's got inbound links already from other sites, so much the better.

The sites only been running about 10 days but there are already more than 6,000 expired domains in the system, all of which are searchable by keyword.

    The domain ? Unwanted-Domain-Names.co.uk

I'm fairly new to this affiliate marketing lark, so any comments/suggestions/criticism will be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I have a question about domain names. I buy from 1and1 and also have some space with them. If I buy a domain I can link in two ways. One keeps the url at the top of the page but offer limited keywork and description. When you search for the domain in google the results are poor or non-existant. If I use the other option it shows the landing url but should then allow google to display the content of the landing page in the search. Which is best ,does it matter and how much weight is placed on the url or domain name?
    Cheers, ejmo.

Getting a site listed at #1 in 36 hours can be done for a small niche, but trying to keep it there is a different story. Getting a site to #1 in 36 hours for a large and popular niche and for a small phrease or keyword would take you a good few months at least.

Not necessarily, BUT to get good listings quickly in competitve areas you need a LOT of link juice to throw at it. There's no reason in theory you couldn't be #1 for absolutely any term you like in 24 hours, assuming that you have the right resources to achieve it.

That doesn't mean it's always possible in practice - as a thought experiment, what do you think you could do with a homepage link from google.com, yahoo.com, amazon.com and msn.com all pointing to you new site? I suspect you'd instantly rank #1 for just about anything you wanted, fresh domain reg or not. In practical terms, of course, that's nearly impossible, but you see what I'm saying, I hope....

I guess it completely depends on what he means by "large and popular niche" which is very ambiguous.

Is "condoms" niche? Is "popular niche" a contradiction?

Or would it have to be "glow in the dark condoms"?

a popular niche is a contradiction in terms i guess but it's all relative.

Anyway, this thread has run its course a thousand times over so lets bury it and move on please.

Can i just say i'm top position for a keyword with 130,000,000 results, i've very proud, but its come from the site building up a reputation over a long time with accurate SEO and 'RELEVANT' links etc. I'd be a little upset if someone could over turn me in a matter of 36 hours, but fair play if they can

and i wouldn't take that away from you for one second mate.

all i'm saying is it certainly doesn't have to take months, that's just regurgitated nonsense that seo forums like to band around.

Stu, agree with your 1000%, top positions are achievable very quickly as we've both proved. Anything is possible although top positions head of keywords like 'bbc' and 'apple' would need some significant investment that i doubt anyone here has available...combined

My keywords are for a merchant site though, so wouldn't be much use for an affiliate.
