Entirely agree with you.
The number of posts and join dates doesn't directly correlate to experience though.
That's nothing against anybody by the way, i'm sure there are people with lots of experience and posts.

Designing for search engine optimisation
1.Find specific SEO keywords (first focus on a niche)
2.Identify your top keywords
3.Get your site to the top of search engine results
- URL (embed keyword phrases in your URL)
- Page title (60 characters max)
- Description metatag (200 characters max)
- Keyword metatag (include 5 keyword phrases max)
- H1 & H2 headers (include SEO keywords in headlines and sub-headlines)
- Keyword density (keyword rich content never exceeding 5% long and 10% short)
- Spice up SEO keywords (at least once in bold or italics – don't overdo it)
- Move keywords up (text at top of page counts for more)
- Text links for site navigation (search engines can't read text in images)
- Anchor text (optimise for the keyword phrase)
- Keyword stemming (include all the variations the keywords)
- Image descriptions (include a description called the 'alt text' with relevant keywords)
- Site structure (every important page should link to every other important page)
- Only go 2 levels deep (2 clicks away from homepage – good for page rank)
- Site map (link in the footer – optimise all anchor text links in sitemap)
- Good outbound links (from key content pages link to best and most relevant sites)
4. The Don'ts for your website
- Don't get fancy
- Don't use flash
- Don't use image text
- Don't use fancy navigation menus
- Don't go after too many keywords per page
- Don't over optimise
- Don't fall for bad linking practices
- Don't fall for the latest fad
5.Quick steps to start building link popularity
- Submit your site to yahoo ($299 per year)
- Submit your site to dmoz (repeat after 6 weeks)
- Get into Wikipedia (listed as an external resource)
- Get links from expert/authority directories in your field
I know I received some private messages... I need an email or somewhere where I can post the comprehensive excel file which is an ideal checklist!

I've just finished a niche site with a keyword density of 25% on the home page for the main key phrase..- Keyword density (keyword rich content never exceeding 5% long and 10% short)
the thing is, it makes sense.. If I try and reduce it to 5% to 10% it will no longer make sense.
Do you think google will think it is a spam attempt?
no they won't. if your content reads correctly and is relevant to your readers it will pose no problem whatsoever.

thanks Stu. And thanks rejoice for the list.
Just one more thing:
Wikipedia tag all outbound links with a nofollow, which makes their value pretty much worthless, does it not?Get into Wikipedia (listed as an external resource)
i disagree with a lot of things on that list mate to be fair but it's still a useful addition to the thread.
I personally never use wikipedia and never pay for inclusion to anything.

I'm curious about the ranking. As you've said, you originally wrote 3 articles (or 3 versions of the same one). In terms of visits to the actual site - have you been able to see which drives more traffic - the Grrrrroogle ranking or referrals from those articles?
Phil
The articles didn't kick until two days ago (or the main one didn't). They are there to merely cement my position in Google.
Anyone will tell you, it takes days if not weeks sometimes to get articles authorised.
