Broadmatch - Turn it off or make sure you negative any banned words
I've recently started to get some AdWords traffic for keywords that I'm not bidding on and was wondering if anyone else has had the same or can explain why this is happening?
I'm bidding on misspellings of a brand term (within the rules of the merchant's programme) e.g. "shop and dropp".
I now seem to be getting results for terms like "sshop and drop", "shopp and ddrop" etc even though I don't have them added to my keyword list. In fact one of the networks called me up and asked me to stop bidding on the merchant's brand term e.g. "shop and drop" because I was showing up in the AdWords results so I had to add their keyphrase as a negative so that it would not show up anymore (-shop and drop). That seems to have worked but surely it should not have showed up in the first place since I'm not actively bidding on it.
Any ideas why this is happening and why it's only started after the campaign has been live for several months?
