I've had a poke around the new Google Analytics Interface. Is it just me or is this just a big hoo haa of style over substance?

The promised data download improvements seem to be nowhere to be found, pulling together campaign results still means trawling across multiple reports and overall I can't see this doing much to help Google's stated aim of helping clients understand the ROI of their campaigns.

It's still a bloody good freebie for general site stats, but it just seems to fall down on telling me where to spend my ad money, and wasn't that the point of it all?

    What does anyone else think?

    Hi Stephen,

Yep - I've spotted the new intereface. I've not had chance to have a good play around with it yet, but shall do so over the next few days...

I've actually bought a book ingeniously entitled "Google Analytics" which is pretty useful and guides you through most of the configuration for GA. We've not done it all yet, but it all looks pretty straight forward... I'll keep you posted.

    I really don't like it!

I thought the old interface was great, the new one seems to be a case of information overload, and from a style point of view doesn't look very good!

Currently, I`m just using the old interface, but its really pissing me off that this is only available for a couple more weeks, and then i`ll be forced to use the new one. I don't see why they can't leave both running as they do now.

I've got to say... I don't like it much either. The old interface worked fine for me and I'd rather stick with that if given the choice.

looks good for the 'at a glance' user but no better if you want to get stuck in.

Some of the downloadable reports have got worse eg. if your viewing top 10 keywords or referring URLs you used to click download as CSV and it gave you everything. If you had 1000 keywords it gave you them all in the CSV. Now the download only gives you whatever your viewing - really limiting what you can and cannot access.

with the old interface if you thought about it you could get to pretty much anything data wise, this version seems to be more clumped together really limiting what you can view.

    maybe it'll get better

I agree, I prefer the old version. But what are you gonna do? We'll have to get used to it by June anyway...
However, it doesn't seem to be working for me right now...I'm getting zero values all across even though I've got a lot more on statcounter!
    Anyone else having this problem?
