I see exactly what you mean but I haven't done anything to achieve that!
I wouldn't be keen for full posts to be reproduced either so the current excerpt model is the best way for me but I didn't do anything to get it like that.
My blog is syndicated to the Blogs section on the new Affilates4U, like many others. I offer a full RSS feed and as such, my posts appear in full in the blogs section.
This brings up the obvious question about duplicate content and as RSS feeds are distributed so quickely, it is possible that Affilates4U, or any other site showing my posts from the RSS feed, would become the authortive source of my own content!
I have noticed that most of the blogs only show a teaser of the post in the Blogs section, indicating that they have set their feed to provide the teaser and not the full post. However, I subscribe to some of these blogs and they come through as a full feed on my RSS reader, but a teaser on Affilates4u. Frasers blog is an example of this.
How is this done? Do these people have two feeds - one on teaser view and one with the full posts?

It cuts mine off at the point when I use the more tag (I use wordpress)

Interesting. I use Drupal. I might try using the break tag and see if that works in the same way as the more tag does for Wordpress.
I have actually used the break tag in a previous post but it is showing the full post on Affilates4u.
Fraser, do you use the Wordpress more tag as well?
Nope - I'm pretty sure I don't do anything like that![]()
Fraser, your blog seems to go through Feedburner. When I type in the URL of your blog, it shows just the excerpt, even though full posts show in RSS readers.
I'm not sure if Feedburner is the default RSS engine for Wordpress. I'm assuming that it is, or Wordpress blogs have some other setting that Drupal doesn't have that facilitates this kind of thing.
Anyway, I emailed Tom Freeman and he capped my blog entries, which is great. So problem solved for now, although I need to look into installing something like Feedburner to ensure that I don't get the same problem with other sites that syndicate from my RSS feed.![]()
Ah - feedburner must be the answer then. Must be giving out a full feed to some and an excerpt to others! Sorry I wasn't much help
It's not the default for Wordpress. I had to sign up and use a plugin so that I could use feedburner. It also doesn't seem to prevent all sites from using the full feed as there are a couple of scraper sites that are duplicating my content![]()
The reason why I thought Feedburner must be the default for Wordpress is because most of the other blogs are showing excerpts like yours and I assumed most of the blogs are powered by Wordpress. Wordpress is just so darn popular these days! So far I have only seen mine and Keith's (pretty sure he uses Drupal as well) that that are showing the full feed.
Thats a shame that other sites are duplicating your content. As long as your seen as the authority, then you should be ok. Not sure if you can drop then a "friendly" email asking them to not show it?
Actually, thats an interesting one, as we are providing RSS feeds, do we have any grounds to try and stop other sites using the content? Probably not. Unless of course we make it clear in the T&C's somewhere that other sites can not use the feeds to duplicate the content in full.
You should have a read of this too Stellar,
