How to show someone ( my wife) the affiliate marketing ropes

My wife wants to help me with the business, and I am trying to explain to her what I do, and to explain the industry. Can anyone point me to getting started in affiliate marketing type resources.
I never really think what I do have just been doing it for years.

I'm going through exactly same thing at the moment. My wife has no experience and i'm trying to teach her the ropes. The best bet is to focus on one area e.g. SEO, PPC, blogging, etc. As "Affiliate marketing" is just too broad an area to teach all in one go.

Also encourage her to read affiliate marketing blogs, forums, etc. There is a good list here: http://dfinitive.com/category/affiliate-marketing

Thanks for the tips, she watches me sometimes but I am not very discplined I get sidetracked easily and go on tangents on the net etc.
I have got frasers podcast on my ipod has there been a second tutorial.

I need a bit of a refresher myself, I saw some seminars in london have these taken place yet. I need to refocus.

Set up a site of her choice for her to manage. Tell her to forget it's on the internet completely. Get her to think of offline advertising and how she would promote another company's products.

Then ask her to decide on how she would want the material to be displayed. Would she want editorials, reviews, interviews or just a simple layout with the product and the price.

Once she has stated how she would as a customer want to read something, then get her to describe how she wants her site to be displayed.

Then she can be responsible for the updating of the content and direct you on what she wants changing.

When she is happy with that then look at the promotion side of things (SEO,PPC etc).

She'll get the hang of it real quick, particularly if she sees her work in progress.
