No "better than that" needed, just a mere observation my friend

I still think you're winding us up but anyway, if the name is that good, why not just offer to lease it for a sensible figure from day one - if it's good why do you need to offer it for a fiver? - doesn't make any sense - to you or the bank or anyone else - if you could get say £50K a year for it now why not just go for that.

Any bank worth it's salt is going to have it written in stone what the increase is going to be in five years time - otherwise you won't get an agreement on day one.

I can only see it having any real value in five years time if you also register a trademark in the same name, otherwise the bank will build up a brand and a trademark and then use Nominet drc to get the domain off you.
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.

Sorry forget about the £5 price i mean low price to start then increase it after five years and yes its a very very good bank domain name for that niche bank market which is new and growing fast in the uk and euro.

A2: Businesses do it all the time offline (property).

A3: Do you have a iron clad contract with google to stop them from increasing your keywords price for 05c to $5, no but you have 1 option dont use them.

A4: Yes its a mega generic, what i should have said was I rent the domain name for a low fee then increase it after five years.
If it is a "top generic premium bank domain name" then no decent business is going to rent it of you for a low fee for 5 years then just agree to a massive increase after 5 years. As I said businesses are not stupid. They know what things (domains in this case) are worth and no decent company or bank will sign a contract that doesn't have some provisor in it for when the initial 5 years are up.

You say businesses do it all the time offline and refer to property. What exactly are you trying to compare here? Someboy renting a domain name to somebody renting a property? Can you elaborate?

You are also comparing renting a domain name to me buying keywords from Google? Again, what are you talking about? How are they comparable? You are 100% right in that I don't have a contract with Google and they can increase their prices whenever they want. But this has nothing to do with renting a domain!

Lets suppose you had a really great premium generic domain, which I very much doubt you do btw. But lets play along and say I am a bank with millions of pounds at my disposal and I am looking for a domain name, here's the questions I would ask:

Why are you renting this domain out for 5 years at a low price? I know all about the domain name market and your price is too low?

I'm going to invest millions in promoting this domain so what happens after 5 years? Do you really think Im going to sign a contract which just ends in 5 years? Think again.

What I may do is agree to a percentage increase year on year, maybe in line with inflation. Or maybe I will agree to renew after 5 years but only if we agree the terms now.

You need to understand that no business will take you seriously, not with those ridiculous terms.

Also, whats with the "i dont post my domain names or websites on affiliate or webmaster forums"? I can understand why you don't post URL's of affiliate sites but why on earth wouldn't you post the domain that you are actually trying to sell/rent?

Someboy hahahahaha ukoffer you are sooooo funny this is coming from someboy posting pics of his car (big toy) online.

What i was talking about google is you have the option to sign the domain name deal or not.

"which I very much doubt you do btw." Ukoffer like i care if you doubt me or not i still own the "really great premium generic domain" , and like i said forget about the £5 fee.

why on earth wouldn't you post the domain that you are actually trying to sell/rent?

Because i am not looking to sell or rent it to a4u members.

I always find it hilarious when people ask for advice and when some of the big affiliates like UK Offer spend their valuable time offering said advice they end up getting pilloried because the advice is not what the poster wanted to hear.
