    Hi Everyone,

    I have the www.millionpoundlake.co.uk and www.milliondollarlake.com websites.

The Sunday Telegraph have approached me to put an ad in their magazine, Seven. It is a little early for me to justify paying for the ad. But is there anyone out there that would like top of the homepage billing on Million Pound Lake in return for sponsoring the ad.

The ad would be in the WebWindows section of the magazine. I have been quoted £395 for one week and £335 for three weeks or more. Easy Forex are currently at the top of the homepage. If you would like to be there instead, please contact me!

Has anyone used the Sunday Telegraph for advertising their website?

    Kind regards.

I (and a lot of people I know) get these emails every single week asking to advertise in Web Windows. As far as I know, nobody has ever seen any amount of success with it.

As anyone who owns a number of domains/sites knows, they just relentlessly spam any address they can find.

It makes me laugh that the publications they sell ads for run stories about spam all the time, yet they allow their advertising sellers to work like this. And yes, I'm aware of their claim that b2b emails aren't spam but when you get dozens of them a week to addresses such as privacy@, support@ etc etc, it's spam by any definition.

Webwindows - yeah that rings a bell.

I think I spoke to them in the end and asked them not to email me anymore.

You could always tell them you'll accept their advertising deal for £30 and until they can meet your offer they should go away.

If their advertising actually worked they'd be booked solid months ahead. The fact that they're having to resort to spamming and discounts etc means that they get very little repeat advertising.

I once ran an advert for one week with them to a url that was specially set up for the advert. I got about 30 clicks and no sales for a £400 spend! I know someone else that tried them and had a similarly poor return.

My naivety about the advertising is embarrassing but it seems that a few of you have enjoyed the North Yorkshire cricket tales on my website. Well I hope you enjoyed them!
