Seeking Searches Sought Stats...so?

Hi y'all,
Looking for some knowledgable SE answers:
1) Do UK & US Search engine users, search more or less at the weekend for products to buy? To what degree?
2) Is Affiliate SE/PPC marketing more or less effective at the weekend?
3) Can anyone direct me to some stats regarding SE usages?
Even better would be breakdown on times/geographic/seasonal/daily etc.

From experience in the gift sector and other areas, in my own experience sales drop at the weekends, I think a lot of people do their surfing and buying whilst at work, and tend to go out at weekends getting away from the computer.

All of my stats drop at the weekend, as do sales.

Anyone know if ANY research has been done on SE usages & Online Purchasing / Affiliate Marketing?

If so please let me know. Im sure it could be used to better spend budgets, than simply emptying it into Google/Yahoo/MSNs coffers!
