In the last nine months or so I have created this travel site to egypt www.goingegypt.com with affiliate links from different merchants, now I am going to be promoting this through Google PPC.

I am now thinking was there any point in creating this travel portal I could just use the affiliate hotel deep links as an landing page, create a Google text ad with some keywords and make money that way.

Q1. What are the differences, advantages and disadvantages of promoting an affiliate link and a websites with affiliate links using Google PPC?

Q2. I hear from forums and other friends people are making shed loads of money, again is by promoting an affiliate link or a personal website with afiliate links?
