I have formatted the system and re-installed...so all that has been taken care of.

If you use adwords editor you can just backup the old account and import it into a brand new account once setup afaik.
I'm surprised google haven't been more helpful though, and I'm not quite sure why a new account is needed... surely if they reset the password etc secure it completely, then allow you to choose new login details etc

I'd try and export the data out of your old account though, and start afresh. Sure, you will loose previous stats, and may have to start again a bit when it comes to quality scores etc, but at least you'll have all the adgroups keywords etc in place.

Exactly! I don't understand how daft their processes can be. If this is the way there is no point in approaching them.

Thanks. Done and Live. But some of the ones which I optimized for months are still dead in the water.

can't say as I am suprised in the slightest, is just what I'd expect to happen tbh

They can't even get trademarked bidding bans right, So expecting them to investigate an account breach and rectify it in some way is just asking way too much

It's just easier for them to suspend everything and say open a new account, regardless of the fact changing the password is enough

Yeah I agree about trademark bans. I had a group of ads disallowed the other day because they mention a 'trademark' in the advert... (Not quite sure how you're supposed to sell things if you can't tell people what it is you're selling).
This is despite the ads running fine for months. Called them up and they said that I'd have to get written approval from the trademark owners to have permission to use it.
All seems pretty stupid and random to me.

Having said that they are still 1000 times better than msn adcenter or yahoo.
