Burton Closing on AWIN

I logged into AWIN this morning and noticed I had a message so for a change I decided to read it (I usually only read the red ones). Good job I did as Burton have decided to close their programme as of September 30th!

How this is not a RED priority message I don't know. However, hats off to Burton for giving a decent amount of notice.

I won't lose any sleep over the closure it wasn't exactly an amazing programme...

They're part of a group of companies aren't they? Just wondering whether the other programs in the group are likely to close too? Dorothy Perkins - same group?

Although Burton is part of the Arcadia group of companies, they are managed autonomously so Dorothy Perkins and Evans Clothing are not affected.

The message was not sent as a red priority as it is advance of the 30 days notice - as you pointed out, Burton were keen to give their affiliates as much notice as possible. I will be sending an additional message on October 1st, when it is 30 days to closure, as a red priority.

We are aware that many affiliates work across a wide range of programmes so we try not to send too many messages as priority unless absolutely necessary.

Wasn't it launched with a fanfare and on a exclusive contract?

I expect it was more to do with the site's usability? I've just seen them on TD though ...
