  Re: Stealing Exclusive Codes

I think its a case of all being a bit vigilant, but there are some sites out there that is not in the affiliate space that simply harvest offline and online voucher codes for traffic, these we have no control over, the name escapes me re the site Im thinking of.

  Re: Stealing Exclusive Codes

Right well I am no further forward so I am now contacting the networks.

For those that are interested, and may want to check for their unique codes, the site that I have issues with is MyVoucherCodes.co.uk that is registered to RosesByDesigns.

RosesByDesigns is here on the forums, and has been online since I messaged him (Mark Pearson) but have not received a single reply to my requests.

My pinched codes can be seen in google here;
site: myvouchercodes.co.uk coldsnail - Google Search

It maybe worth you checking your personal/unique codes by changing COLDSNAIL to whatever you usually request.

I am now off to the following networks & merchants asking them to act;
Coles Shirtmakers - Webgains
Half Price Perfumes - Webgains
Not Designer - POR
Truffle Shuffle - Affiliate Window
UK Soccer Shop - Webgains
Uplifted - Webgains

He's also mentioned for cookie stuffing in Jason's blog at Click For Cookies Or Use Forced Clicks & IFrames? | One Little Duck - Affiliate Blog.

Merchants/Networks why do you tolerate this type of behaviour? This is what gives us ALL a bad name.

how ironic it's a site called MYvouchercodes.co.uk when it would appear that some are in fact other peoples

  Re: Stealing Exclusive Codes

I have just done a search on google and myvouchercodes looks like a serious player in the discount code business.

I am a bit surprised that he needs to "lend" codes off other players.

  Re: Stealing Exclusive Codes

Hi Frostie,

Just seen this post..

Have you tried emailing me? at mark @ myvouchercodes.co.uk ?

I would always respond to you... I think you have maybe tried contacting an old account under my username that i have not used in months and month (dont know password)

You could have contacted me via my site?! or gave me a phone call?

As stated in the PM, just let me know what codes are a problem and I will remove them ASAP. I have no need to steal your codes as we have a lot of our own exclusive codes too, so a big sorry about this. Someone else works on the site with me and deals with all this. We have users add codes to our system via the store pages, and upon verification, these go live on the site. If you let me know your code 'term' I can add it to our blacklist.

Sorry, and will have it sorted asap

Mark

  Re: Stealing Exclusive Codes

Hi,

As a representative of one of the networks mentioned here we have spoken to Mark recently about framing and he's been perfectly accommodating about changing his sites to fall in line with affiliate T&Cs.

It's a little frustrating when people assume networks are prepared to stand by and not act. Most affiliates are reasonable and Mark is no exception. Like anything it takes time to make changes and we have acted on this issue over the past few months as and when cases arise.

EDIT: Mark, posted this while you were posting your comments so thanks for picking this up.

Hi Kieron,

Thanks for raising this.

Yes, a month ago we were mentioned here, and it led to me being made fully aware of this serious problem. As soon as the issue was raised I started working on fixing this problem as within a few weeks we have a new site that no longer uses iframes. As soon as it was raised I personally contacted some of the networks and I have since been working with some of the big named networks in changing the system on myvouchercodes.co.uk, we no longer use iframes. So the networks do work at fixing these issues....

Mark
