Verified by Visa and the rest - effects ??

Hi,

Possible concern ? Recently the card companies appear to have fully implemented the 'Verified' process where you have no option but to opt into a password system for your card. Bit of a pain - another obstacle to buying - but thats not my main worry.

Having done the password thing recently, I just purchased a book through one of our own aff. links. When I got to the Verified by Visa form, I had forgotton the password, so went back to see if I could get around it. Had to fill it in again (it doesn't seem to do a reminder thing).

Commission hasn't shown up yet.
Is it possible that this implementation has thrown a spanner in the works of some of the tracking ? Bad time of year if it has.

We've delivered a lot of visitors evenly to around 6 merchants, 4 seem to be converting OK, 2 are not - in fact no sales at all, including the one where I just purchased my book - but they did fine last year.

Seeds of worry have been planted to say the least. Any comments from networks ?

This is interesting. I was told by one online shop that Verified by Visa had been implemented by the card company and you had to do it.

Just bought something from Hamleys, using Visa and no sign of the V by V. So its obviously only participating stores ? Will be keeping a close eye on conversions / vs. which stores have it.
