Can anyone help me with a techie question?
I'm just transferring the urls on my site to a php redirect page so that I'm not showing the affiliate links. It all seems to have gone surprisingly problem free so far - nothing broken, but I have no idea what do I do with my links from CJ that use image pixel tracking??? (I don't want to mess up the links so that they're not tracking properly without even realising) Do I leave the pixel image in the main page and put the link in the redirect page or will this break the tracking?
You don't need to show the pixel for the tracking to work, just send it through your tracking url. I presume the tracking pixel it to help you track how many times the creative is shown (like a banner show)
Does this mean you can use Amazon aff links in the php redirect page? They have an image pixel too and I recall seeing another site using affiliate redirect but with amazon links left intact.
Thank you all so much for your responses. I did think that the pixel was just used for tracking impressions but I'd seen a few warnings about not removing this from CJ links or the tracking wouldn't work....I guess what they should have said is the "Impression tracking" wouldn't work.
