I ran facebook flyers for a month or 2 before the ads system came in and they only seemed to bill me half the time then. I didn't complain! but does leave you wondering where you're at.
Anyone using Facebook ads? I've been playing around with it for a few days and it looks like their stats and billing are all over the place.
The daily stats screen shows I had 74 clicks yesterday at a cost of 91c but the day before I had 81 clicks at 0 cost. The account billing page shows they billed my card for $5 but despite the page being titled "Daily invoices" there's no actual invoice to view and see what I'm being charged for.
Am I missing something? I've had a bit of success with Facebook ads but if I'm not going to be able reliably to keep track of what I'm spending I may just ditch the whole thing.

I've blogged about my experiences with Facebook ads : Facebook ads - what the f***? | Leaving The Day Job
Feedback from anyone else who's experimenting with them is most welcome.
Hi
Here at day2dayshop.com we posted 2 ads and generated lots of imps but very few clicks. It could be that we were talking about the everyday home consumables such as inkjet cartridges, the products weren't sexy enough to attract browsers in such a community??![]()
I would love to hear if anyone is making this work for our kind of products![]()

I've just started using Facebook Ads to promote a mobile provider. I've now got 4K impressions with no clicks.
I am creating differently worded ads to see if they get rejected by Facebook and how many clicks they get. My bids are at 20/30c to promote impressions.
mainlime, 74 clicks for 91c is really good. Did you notice your CPC drop as you acquired more clicks? Do you know if Facebook is similar to Adwords on this?
I find similar things with Google Content Network. Normally I get about 20% CTR on Google Search ad's. One of my campaigns the other day though I forgot to turn off the content network, and got about 10,000 impressions and 2 clicks.I've just started using Facebook Ads to promote a mobile provider. I've now got 4K impressions with no clicks.
I`ve never had good results from the content network and always turn if off now (when I remember).
I guess its a similar thing, people appreciate the ad's when they are specifically searching for something, but ignore them if they are just browing.
By the time Facebook got round to giving me the right figures it was $2.87 for those 74 clicks but that's still only 4c per click. I've found for most campaigns that somewhere between 5c and 10c is sufficient to get the impressions running at a decent rate. I'm averaging about 6c per click. I don't see any reason to go much above this on the campaigns I'm running but obviously that depends on your conversion rate and your level of commission on sales.
Hey Mainlime
You obviouslyu have been more successful than anyone else here at making this work. Do you have any tips about the type of offer that works and the structure of the ad?

I think the success is relative. Yes I'm in profit but we're only talking about tens of pounds not hundreds or thousands. I haven't figured out how to scale it out yet.
Stuck at the day job right now. Might do a blog post about Facebook ads this evening if I get a chance and can think of something constructive to say.
I have written up my thoughts here : Make money with Facebook ads | Leaving The Day Job
My experience was it was a waste of time. Nothing else to offer other than the results were very poor.
I ran an ad for my travel extras which generated 7500 impressions in one day, no clicks & has never generated any impressions since!!![]()
I also created an ad for cashback shopper which has now been banned twice for breaking the terms of their agreement, but having gone through every line of it, I cannot for the life of me see why. The only thing I can imagine is that we pay cashback on casino sites & they class this as promoting gambling?
As there is no way to ask anyone at Facebook why an ad has been banned, I've decided not to bother any more with it....
I had an ad banned and emailed Facebook via the contact form. Got a response back within about 24 hours to say ad had been banned by mistake (!)
Had pretty mixed results with facebook ads. Getting your advert accepted is only the start of game!
