Had a really good week this last week, sales have leapt up helped by my first PPC campaigns of the year, and been really pleased!

However, had a really really bad today - not a single conversion! It's been months and months since thats happened, and i`m really not sure why. Ironically, it's also been my most expensive day on PPC, so not a good combination.

Had a large number of clicks to my affiliate sites, of which about 70% have clicked through to go to the merchants site, but no one has bought anything. Been tempted to shut down my PPC campaigns for the weekend, but not long left today so leaving it running, and hoping i`ll have a better day tomorrow.

Hasn't really cost me anything, as it will just come out of my profit for the last week, but dissapointing none the less.

Has anyone else had a bad day today? Know from experience that usually weekends are a lot worse than weekdays for PPC sales, but last weekend wasn't down much so really wasn't expecting this today!

We've had a less-good day after a promising start which seems to be down to less-good AW stats compared to trends of other networks. Wondering if AW servers were on go-slow again today? Did anyone else experience lower than normal AW stats or server performance issues?

Yep, although I'm the finance vertical... conversion rates around 30% lower than usual.

However, one user did go on to a mortgage site and applied for something there, so that single lead brought me back up to speed

All of my sites are on Affiliate Window.

Seems strange as the number of clicks is very high today, but no conversions. I`ve checked with a merchant though and they have had sales recorded today, so I know AW's tracking is working.

Been strange as a lot of the clicks have been to merchants i`ve had good conversions from in the last week.

Hope todays just a blip. I`ll see how tomorrow goes, and if its the same i`ll just run my PPC during the week.

I was OK today also... which is unusual! I tend to be one of the alarmed crowd!!

From a merchant perspective, monday and tuesday are ALWAYS my strongest days. Do you affiliates see things the same, or does it generally depend on the market you are promoting?

I haven't seen any specific days that are best really, just know the weekends are worse than weekdays (although never as bad as today!)

I used to think the people would buy more on the weekend as they could have more time on their home computer, but then learnt that that doesn't happen in practice. Seems people go out and do things on the weekend, like high street shopping, and do most of their online buying from work.

One thing I've noticed is that you do get many more sales in the weekday lunch hour period from 12 - 2pm.

Yeah, in order of most sales its:

    Monday
    Tuesday
    Wednesday
    Saturday
    Thursday
    Sunday
    Friday

It goes against everything you'd expect doesn't it!

Weekends are frequently the worst days and my advice would be to not be affraid to turn campaigns off.

Without a proper survey, it would be second-guessing the market to turn things on and off imo. Sometimes you can get enough data for a pattern, but quite rare. Surely depends on your market.

Scariest thing is you can recover a huge amount in one day - we just had click-mad visitors on Thursday - no sales. Friday average. Saturday normally quiet, but yesterday had 3 days worth of sales. Conclusion no pattern worth acting on, other than whether the overall ROI is OK or not.

We've found that whenever a something is marginal ROI, then if you take into account the cost of your time tweaking it, its best to be ruthless, scrap it and find something else.

Unfortunately was really ill yesterday with a stomach bug, could only commute between my bed and the toilet and thats about it!

Was worried about my campaign after receiving a record 0 sales on Saturday. However, I logged in this morning and found that yesterday (Sunday) was my best day of the year saleswise! Nice start to the morning

Hasn't been as good today though. In a way its bad as I`d decided to stop my campaigns at the weekend, but now its no longer cut and dry after yesterday, and I won't know if I could be missing out.

Sundays have been really quite strong for me for around 5 weeks now. They are usually quite poor, but at this time of year I'd definately leave the campaigns on for Sundays.

Hope this helps, although you may be targeting different sectors to me!

For the main market that I am in my best days are always Fridays and Saturdays. However this past weekend I had NO sales at all, which was really disappointing as I had recently expanded some profitable ppc campaigns to scoop up the xmas market which I thought would really be taking off around now.

I am caught between thinking it's (a) just a natural fluctuation of my market, (b) people getting paranoid about security issues, identity theft and using credit cards on computer after the recent massive Inland Revenue data loss debacle, or (c) affwin tracking issues (this is the only network I use at the moment) and I have noticed that their server seems to be going down a lot recently.
