Merchants with Phone Numbers

Afternoon all!
Would you say that using Merchants whose phone number is blatently displayed on there website to order is a good idea?

Are there people here that dont even notice a problem with this?

On the other hand are there poeple who would say avoid these merchants like the plague?

The subject of PROMINENT PHONE NUMBERS keeps cropping up, just search the forum.

In my opinion things are better than they used to be but there is still a bit to go.

Personally I would like to see more merchants using telephone tracking and have blogged about it in the past Telephone Tracking

I don't mind merchants with phone numbers personally, in the end the merchant has to display their number on their site somewhere. I feel if they make it available prominently, it can reassure the customer they can get help if something goes wrong and can actually encourage them to by.

I think a lot of customers are now internet savvy enough to be able to place their order online, and not many will phone to place their order. I understand some will, but im willing to lose these people if it means more people do order online.

I know some affiliates hate merchants with phone numbers, and thats fair enough, its down to each individuals preferences.

Some merchants now pay affiliates for phone calls

Dell have just introduced such tracking (i think via unique numbers) I think this is the way forward. As some customers will always prefer to order over the phone.
