Right so iv decided to do an experiment in regards to the other topic (Expired Domains Page Rank?).

So i backordered 5 domains that where expiring today and all had a page rank of 6. Now the domain actually expired in October last year but it takes a few months for it to become available again for people to register. Now out of the 5 domains I backordered only 1 of them I was able to get hold of and register. I am not going to say what domain it is as you never know who is reading this topic but the domain has still managed to keep its Page Rank of 6. Yes i know this is only the first day of registering the domain and it may change in the future but I’m now going to backorder some more domains with Page Rank 6 or higher and see if they all keep the Page Ranks as well.

So I will report back to you if there is any change.

PS: my servers IP also got banned from Google for a few hours because I so called did too many page rank checks on domains LOL !

This experiment (yours) is what af markettng etc is about/!!!! - find an entry point into any market, whatever it is and go for it.

If I were you, and if it works (as it will) dont mention it too others.

I have never tried expired domains, but i imagine there is alot of money in it if you get the right domains.

IMO any rank 6 is worth buying, even if its in the short term. def good for getting any content in the index.

You'll have to keep us posted come the next PR update, see if there was a wipeout or not. I think the ideal time for buying an expired domain is straight after the PR update, that way in theory you get to keep it for a while. I bought a couple of expired domains myself recently, but they didn't have PR on them.

My first concern is did you check if the domain was fake before you bought it, as it surprises me that someone else didn't get the domain before you as there are many professional page rank grabbers out there.

Also if you didn't manage to get the other 4, but managed to get this one, then that would indicate to me that there is a reason you managed to get it.

Sorry to sound negative, it may be ok for all I know, just don't want you to get stung as backlinking from a fake PR domain can actually have negative effects with Google.

A good tool to use is DigPageRank Pagerank Checker Tool in over 700 datacenters

If when you type the domain name in it comes up red, the page rank is fake, and will be mirrored from another domain.

If when you type the domain name in it comes up orange te page rank is unknown (normally means it is ok but hasn't been indexed by google, or has dropped from google index due to it expiring)

If when you type the domain name in it comes up green you are on to a winner as the page rank is genuine and is indexed in google.

Good luck and feel free to PM me if you want anymore help or want to discuss in more detail

You can always use Yahoo to find out who is giving links to your new domain. It could be that most of the sites linking to the domain did not know it had expired. You could also find yourself getting some traffic on very unexpected and unwelcome search terms. Having PR pass around is a definite plus.
