I've recently purchased Price Tapestry and so far it seems great. You can use it as a price comparison site, or use it to power your own product specific content units to display on other sites.

It takes a bit of manipulating but with plenty of free support from David and skins available it's not that hard to use.

I keep hearing great reports about Price Tapestry, but when I look at the admin area, it looks a bit thin when compared to Datafeed Studio. At first glance Datafeed Studio allows much more with :

Persistent Product description updates
Category Mapping/rewriting
WordPress plugin

Now maybe PriceTapestry does all that and more, but the demo admin doesn't sell it to me.

Has anyone used both to make a direct comparison?

I've never heard of Datafeed Studio to be honest but it looks like a good solution.
Personally, as someone who always avoided datafeeds like the plague, I am a recent convert to pricetapestry. I've easily got my head around the basics and I've implemented it on 3 trial sites so far - I like it. I can already see lots of possibilities and the support from David is awesome - whatever your problem, he will sort it.
Everything you want is there - although it's not always labelled in terms such as plug-in

I admit that the PT site and forum is a bit 'home made' but all the info is there if you look hard enough - and if it isn't, you only have to ask. I'm already in profit with PT after just 2 weeks and I'm only experimenting with it so far

Anyway, it seems that each have a money back guarantee so why not try them both?

Yep, Price tapestry does all that and more!

The key to price tapestry is the customization it's a script to use as a solid base and build on. Check out the forum on the Price Tapestry website to get an idea of what can be done with the script. The support from the author David is amazing he has helped me with many customizations and there is not a single feature I have asked for he hasn't got a add on script for. Can't recommend it highly enough.

PT can do pretty much what you want it to and is easily open to modification. However I've not used Datafeed Studio so can't comment - the suggestion to try both and then refund the 'loser' is a good idea though.

Datafeed Studio looks cheaper, but if you purchased some extras then it would probably end up a similar price.

I'd assume they are both essentially the same and it comes down to personal preference. But let us know your opinion if you do try it.

Highly recommended AxisITP Price comparison script!

I think it has been discontinued. You may find a zip of it somewhere for download but there will be no support.
