I have a site which receives approx 3000-5000 u/v a day and I am :
number 1 on google
number 1 on yahoo
number 1 on aol
number 1 on windows live
number 1 on msn
for the exact same phrase which brings me 95%+ of my traffic.
Here is the break down of where the traffic comes from :
Percentage Search Engine
85.27% Google
8.90% Yahoo!
2.74% AOL UK
1.71% Windows Live
1.37% MSN
Ok this may not be the case for all sites, but this give a very clear example that google is THE most important search engine to target for visitors![]()
all serps mate. no PPC at all![]()
Well done!
I take it your sites been around a while then.
Those stats seem to be roughly inline with the market share for the UK. Google is totally dominant in the UK with a good 85-90% market share I believe. At least it is in the UK anyway, not sure about other parts of the world.
In the USA, it is a different picture, with Google only having 58% market share. MSN and Yahoo combined are about 30% there I think.
Still, the USA makes up 60% of Google's total worldwide revenue, which is interesting.
