What does a Closed PPC policy mean?

Hi,

Currently, I have joined a merchant program with the following PPC policy:

"Closed PPC policy"

What does actually "Closed PPC policy" meant?? Is it meant there is not restriction and I have the freedom to bid whatever keywords I want, including their brand name?

Re: What does Closed PPC policy meant?

No It means the exact opposite of that, their policy is a CLOSED.. not open

you may want to email them to check specifically what is not allowed if they do not specify this exactly.

Re: What does Closed PPC policy meant?

This is when a merchant either:

- Operates their own ppc account and doesnt want affiliates operating one.
- The merchant allows a "closed group" of affiliates to operate a ppc account but no one else. The closed group is normally made up of the top 5 converting affiliates who service a particular merchant/product.

Basically if your name aint down you cant ppc to that campaign

Re: What does Closed PPC policy meant?

closed ppc means that you are not allowed to use the merchant's url as the display url for you to send ppc traffic directly to them. The ppc statuses are:

*Open: no restrictions for paid traffic
*Restricted: specified keywords are not allowed to be used by affiliates, be that in combination with the merchant url or the affiliate url
*Closed: the display url cannot be used

The closed ppc can also include restrictions in keywords, which will be specified separately.

Hope this helps
thanks

No, is not with TD. As a matter of fact, the programme is with webgain. I am great to see the response from webgain "Hero". Thanks for your clarification.

In that case it seems a very open to interpretation where as TD has a meaning that you cannot even mention the TM term in you ad never mind keyword!
