Agreed - the worst offenders are emails that begin with "URGENT - ..." that announce some completely trivial fact, like a voucher code expiry date being a day late.
With affiliates signing up to so many programs, should emails we now receive be categorised ie Promotional, Commission Changes, Closures, Incentives, T&C or Policy changes etc..
Isn't it about time that all networks allowed affiliate to opt into promotional emails they want to receive, not are forced to receive?
What kind of emails are essential that affiliate should receive?
Which networks have an internal mail system (which I approve) where those same emails are posted in there?
Cluttering the inbox imho, gets in the way of essential communications. Note I am not saying don t have promotional emails, but we should be allowed the option.
It's about keeping it persoanlised to our requirements.

You mean something like this?
I'd like merchants to stop sending out useful information that's only visible if you view an image in their newsletter. It's not searchable and doesn't get picked up.URGENT: E.ON Commissions Increased Now
Also I won't pick up any messages that are sent to internal systems but also not sent to my email inbox.
If messages are forwarded to my gmail inbox, I can filter, search and archive accordingly. I can't do that if the message is only on a networks system.
^^ yeah the key to email joy is using your preferred email client appropriately. Peeps will have there own ways of doing things. I tend to use a mixture of several email addresses and post delivery rules to sort the interesting stuff out.
Once you get a system that works for you then it doesnt have to take up much of your time and checking your emails becomes a pleasure rather than a chore.
Of course it would be nice if the senders pre filtered everything in the first place lol!! But I prefer to take control myself!
I don't have any problem filtering my real affiliate/work related mails, its all the other background spam that annoys me.

By the way that url doesnt work its only for show..........
Spam is realy annoying! I also hate Smart Quotes for sending an email every 10 minutes with some trivial crap on it. I quit Smart Quotes because of this.....
I agree, I'd rather have the information I want rather than one in ten emails.
