Re: The Nightmare of Duplicates
As I'm the affiliate in question who promotes JD through AF I thought I'd stick my oar in the discussion. Firstly to address a couple of allusions a few people have made, I'm doing nothing dodgy while promoting JDs site. I'm PPCing directly to JD with the AF coding, and only promoting JD through AF.
I've just noticed that the funky new AF interface shows lapse time for purchases made, so they must store it somewhere. An original click time could be worked out from that. At a push if AF can't supply it, I can supply it to JD or AW to help Dan sort this problem with duplicates out.
I think the reason this problem relates solely to me on AF is that since my average lapse time for purchases in the AF stats is EXACTLY the same as the network average lapse time for JD on AF, I can only assume I'm the only affiliate promoting JD on AF, so it makes sense that all duplicates between the networks would relate to me.
AW/AF/JD please contact me if there's any way I can help at all to resolve this issue. (Ideally other than giving money back
). I appreciate the pain in the pocket, and the amount of time taken in sorting it out that this must cause but it's only the networks and merchant that have control and responsibility for not allowing duplicates or for removing them at commission approval time, so it would seem harsh for an affiliate to have to bear the cost of someone else's oversight many months earlier, assuming the affiliate wasn't doing cookie-stuffing or anything else untoward.

Hey Stu , as you know we have been in email contact back and forth the last couple of days, regarding promotion on AF you have your own seperate programme that runs at a certain percentage. This is seperate to the other affiliates as you are a high sales generator from PPC.
There are other affiliates promoting me on AF which have been checked for duplicates but most of these apart from clickangel are part of standard websites that are non PPC.
On the financial side, in terms of the archive duplicates I'm quite confident no affiliates will suffer any chargebacks for this, as it is the merchant and networks responsilibilty (apart from the cookie stuffing ones of course)
As this has panned out so far, in terms of cost:
Affiliate Window have waivered the management fee
I will pay the web company costs to impliment the new click append coding, few hours coding work etc.
And we will await to see what decision Aff Future make once I have checked each others times.

Good luck with sorting it out.

Know what you mean
i'm knackered.
Regarding the topic I think I'll put a cap on this now and deal with any correspondance or progress on the matter in private with each network. If anyone has any other comments please post and let me know any articles available on duplicates, or local cookies and I'll take a read through. Thanks! appreciate everyones help the progress has been excellent so far today.
